So the Law on GC.com is "no fundraising", "no begging". Plain and simple eh.

Well the law is an a**.

Culture is the key to understanding what's going on here, and why we Aussies feel so strongly about what you have done.

Perhaps GC.com has been so wrapped up in it's American Roots, that it has forgotten it's an International site and, because of this, it needs to be more flexible in it's approach, not only to this rule, but to all rules associated with playing the game.

Here is a little culture lesson for you Yanks, explaining our deep seated feeling toward this disaster. I'll try to highlight some of the differences on the way.

Firstly. This Disaster has taken place right on our doorstep. Waves from the Disaster washed up on our North Western Shores. Therefore we are far closer to the horror than you in Americans Are. These people are our next door neighbours.

Secondly, We have many of the affected Asian Cultures and families living in our community, they are our friends, and often our peoples. We are far more a part of Asia than the U.S.

Third, We are by nature a highly generous and feeling people, who believe in a fair go above all other things. We always admire and reward the "Battlers" of this world.

While you yanks are watching the drama unfold on CNN and chortling about how much in "dollar terms" you are donating, we are ALL getting up off our asses and doing something about it and that includes encouraging donations at every opportunity available to us. We see nothing wrong with this.

So keep you "hard a**" rule for yanks if you like, but respect our culture as different to yours, and bend the rules accordingly
