How do you load maps to the SD card. I do not see that you get to select where the maps go when you load them from mapsource. I have a colorado 300 with a 4gb sd card.

The newer versions of map source (I think 6x or better), have a drop down menu for target that shows both the internal "Garmin" area and the external sd card. I did make a Garmin dir structure on my sd drive.

You don't even need to make the directory on the SDCard. MapSource will do that for you. In fact, for whatever reason, I've had better luck loading large map files if there was nothing on the card. Not sure why this is, but if I try to overwrite, I'll end up with an error message. Just send the map to the drive letter assigned to the SDCard, as PP described above.

i have city navigator north america NT DVD and when i use mapsource to send it to the sd card it wont go. When i copy the dvd to the sd card it gives me a DVD copy and not the mapsupp.img file. how the heck do i get to make an .img file out of the DVD, so i can have city nav. on a sd. Thanks

You choose the map tiles that you wan to send and then send to device. Choose the SD Card, as the destination. It is hard to determine what you are doing wrong. Can you explain your steps in detail?

i have a Garmin 60Csx gps and City Navigator North America NT DVD.
What i am trying to do is to put the entire DVD on the SDCard. I can put sections of it by saving to the map section in Mapsource and i see they become a mapsupp.img file on the SDCard, however i cannot seem to find an easy way to get the entire DVD saved on the SDCard.

Select the entire country and send it to the SD card. It'll probably take a few hours to compile and transfer.

Make sure the map is unlocked to your unit otherwise it won't load on there.
