+bittsen
I think it's clunky and the quotes don't work anymore. Other than that, I don't have anything good to say about it. Quote Link to comment

+EyeD10T
Let em work the bugs out and then we will see. Its going to take some getting used to, but I think I am going to like the new look. Quote Link to comment
+Sioneva
I think it's pretty awful, myself. Clunky and - I dunno. Depressingly grey. And way too "blocky". First impression anyway. Quote Link to comment
+keehotee
Looks good! Well done and thanks to all involved Quote Link to comment
savant9
There are some issues with the style sheet. We'll clean it up over the next couple of days. Quotes updated (for example) Since you are working on the quotes, please only quote one level deep. A quoted, quote of a quote gets a little tedious when it is quoted again in another quote.......... RedShoesGirl
I think it's clunky and the quotes don't work anymore. Other than that, I don't have anything good to say about it. i have to agree. it is hard to read with light levels of grey, boring, clunky and just plain ugly. if it ain't broke, don't fix it. the only problem with the other forums is the site was slow. this isn't just a matter of getting used to something, Groundspeak has actually made it harder to read and use the forums. looks like a first year web designer site design. +Manville Possum
I can't say that I like it. Was this supposed to be an improvement? Hopefully the bugs will be worked out soon. Maybe it will just take some getting used to and be better, it does seem to have some neat features, but it looks awful. Edited December 21, 2010 by Manville Possum Hunters Quote Link to comment

+Nighthawk700
My first impression when I saw the forum is that it's a little hard on my eyes (bright), but it may be because I'm still waking up. It definitely fits in the "Groundspeak" colors now. Like anything new, it'll be a few days of kicking the tires before I can give a good honest opinion of how it is. Quote Link to comment
+coggins
I think it's clunky and the quotes don't work anymore. Other than that, I don't have anything good to say about it. Well, pretty much the only thread I follow on OT is What/where and now it's impossible to play on an iPod for example because you can't zoom in an an image anymore . Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
Clunky sounds about right. Grey on grey color scheme is hard on the eyes. No. Nothing good to say about it. Don't like it. Quote Link to comment
+Mezgrman
I can't see a Favicon and I'd like to see a line over the signature. Other than that, I think it's much better than the old version. Maybe I'm gonna post more often from now on. Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
I think it's OK, I'm prepared to play with it for the next week or so and will wait for any tweaks that get applied... Ask me again in a couple of weeks. (I have a feeling this could be an example of "facebook syndrome" - Everytime anything gets changed on fb there's mass wailing and weeping and The End Of (facebook) Life As We Know It. A couple of weeks later everyone's used to it, glitches have been sorted and nobody remembers what it used to look like anyway. Then all is OK... until the next change around...) +WhoDis
It's got some magor bugs right now, but looks like it as some potential. Yeah, the color scheme is awful. Quote Link to comment

+Chokecherry
I don't hate it but it's hard to read with the grey on grey for me. The huge side area for the member information seems a little like huge wasted space to me and since I use my bookmark tab down it means I have to scroll back and forth to read posts. It's not going to screw up my life any but I miss the old one (other than being slow and timing out). Quote Link to comment
+BBWolf+3Pigs
The items in grey text on the grey background is a little hard to read. I think the icon indicating a thread you have replied in needs to be a bit more obvious. Quote Link to comment
+Castle Mischief
I like it. Looks more like we're on a "Geocaching.com" forum instead of some fly-by-night random chat room. Queue the requests to opt-out of the new look. Quote Link to comment
+John in Valley Forge
A bit bright, but all in all I like the look Quote Link to comment
+BBWolf+3Pigs
And the icon for "read" threads needs to be more distinct from teh "unread" icon. The Grey is too. Quote Link to comment
+Ike 13
Whoa. I do like it, and so far it seems much faster. Hopefully no more timeouts. Quote Link to comment
+JB10-4
So far not a fan....Very hard to read....Why do we have to revert to one color shading...Please change the icons Quote Link to comment
+The Caching Coulters
Overall I love it. Though you still can't "hover" over a vague thread title and get the first 100 characters or so of the post. So you still have to go into the thread to see what it's about. That was something I figured would happen. Heck it's on almost every other forum out there. I figured it was standard equipment. Quote Link to comment

But if you look at the forum front page with the list of all the topics showing, hover just to the right of each Topic Title (to the left of the name of the Topic Starter) a little icon appears to click and "View Topic Preview". It gives you the first post and also the last post, should you want it. Will that do? MrsB Quote Link to comment

+thistleRacers
ok, I wanted to check out searching. How do you search so the results give posts and not forums...where is the advance search. Also, in this new format how do you get the OT to be longer than 2 pages....where do you change the date range? Quote Link to comment
+thistleRacers
Found the advance search...that dark grey gear beside the search...doh! Still searching for the second question above.... (LOVE the speed!) Quote Link to comment
+thistleRacers
AHA! "click here to show filter options" at the bottom of the forum thread list.... OK...I'm good! Quote Link to comment
+aminalguy
I'm feeling a bit lost. I tended to look for my threads visually, not actually reading them, if that makes sense. At the moment, it's making me have to READ! I would say there's too much room at the top. I liked being able to reload the page and not have to scroll to see if any of the threads I was interested in were bumped back up to the top with a new post. Right now, as others have said, it's too clunky for that. Everything's too spread out. Quote Link to comment
+Ecylram
So far, I very much like the change. The forum is much faster and it is so much easier to read on my phone. Good job guys! A lot o work went into making the old forum database work with the new software. Quote Link to comment
+aminalguy
It also seems to have taken away your last read markers, so threads you've read all of say you've read none. Not sure yet about whether it'll start me at the beginning of a thread I've read most of but there are new posts to. Guess I'll go find out. Quote Link to comment

+ICHTHYS
Looks great, easy to read. Doesn't look like some 3rd party forum on some other server now. Feels like I am still at the GC.com site. Great job! Quote Link to comment
+LadeBear68
I have a question. When I go to a thread that I have already read, it doesn't give me the option to pick up at the first new post that I haven't read. It sends me back to the very first post that was ever written. I have clicked on every option including "go to first unread post", but the first unread post is post number 1. Quote Link to comment
+scott9282
Ibid. Not overly thrilled with the color scheme but I'll get used to that. However the "last read" button widget doesn't seem to be working for me. Added: I think I've figured out the "last read" button problem. Could it be that due to the new format the old cookies or whatever it was that remembered us went in the toilet? So now it has to learn to remember us all over again? Just sayin' Edited December 21, 2010 by scott9282 Quote Link to comment

I have clicked on every option including "go to first unread post", but the first unread post is post number 1. Same here, although the second time I went back into threads, the feature worked. Maybe the new forum lost track of where everyone was, and the "counter" needs to be reset? (Showing my detailed understanding of the interwebs...) Quote Link to comment
+NetworkCacher
While I appreciate the upgrade I'm not happy with the color choices nor the layout. There is lots of wasted space and it seems very hard on my eyes. Quote Link to comment

+FireRef
Way too spread out - takes 3-4 times as long to read through a set of topics because you have to keep sliding down the page - needs to be more compact. Is this a setting we have some control over? Quote Link to comment
knowschad
Sorry... I just don't get the "wasted white space" thing. White space is good. Crowded is bad. I am thrilled by this upgrade. I miss that my "last post read" tracker isn't working, but that won't be an issue for very long. Quote Link to comment
