+purple_pineapple
I've a feeling its not, but does anyone know of a way of filtering waypoints in GSAK and then using a macro to automatically turn that filter into a bookmark list on GC? I don't know how possible this would be (and I haven't tried yet cos I've only just thought about it, and I'm at work) but would a macro loosely based on the semi-auto logging macro work? Yours hopefully! Dave Quote Link to comment
+KiwiGary
That would great if someone has done that. Sorry I haven't. See ya...Gary Quote Link to comment
markandlynn
Just asked on the GSAK forum its a great idea i wanted to use a PQ to create this bookmark list but cant. This would be a good workarround Quote Link to comment
+purple_pineapple
I probably should have asked on there - let us know if you get a response! As I say, I will try tinkering with the logging macro - if I can get it to open up the add bookmark page instead of the add log page for each cache, then I wouldn't object to clicking OK and continue for each one.... +Jamie Z
In this thread, a similar request was made and Jeremy hinted that he might be able to put something simple in. Jamie Quote Link to comment
markandlynn
let us know if you get a response! I am not aware of any way that Groundspeak will currently let you do this via 3rd party software. To my knowledge you must go through the Groundspeak web interface to add/change bookmarks. +ClydeE
OK, I didn't notice this thread until you asked the question in the GSAK thread. My understanding was that you wanted to be able to do this in bulk in one go (I guess we would all like that ) However, purple_pineapple did mention something along the lines of not minding having to clicking on OK (or whatever to continue) this would be similar to how the GSAK logging macro works and I don't see this violating the TOU. This would enable you to create a bookmark from a GSAK filter, but you would still manually have click on OK (or whatever, and perhaps select the boomark list you wanted) for every cache. We are still not out of the woods as I had a look at the bookmark link and it contains the cache GUI ID (I think that is what it is) and a waytype as a number. I think I could write a macro that would grab the GUI ID and convert the cache type to this number, but before I went any further I would like to know if this would really be any use or would it still be too much work for the average user to do it this way. +purple_pineapple
as clyde says, I wouldn't be adverse to clicking OK to move onto the next waypoint. Little bit more hard work, but MUCH easier than searching and bookmarking each one by one. My IDEAL scenario would be to have it automatically select the bookmark list after some user defined input, and then move all of them in fully automatically - is this the bit that would breach GC TOU? I would have thought that if its allowed, then it could be done all in one go - as nothing needs to be added to each page - unlike the logs, where we still need to type the actual log report. Here's hoping! Dave Quote Link to comment

Yes, I think that is what everybody would like. However, not so much a breach of the GC TOU but I currently can see no way of doing this in one bulk upload. If I automated this to do it one by one, then this is where we get into the "gray" area of TOU violation. So I think we can still do it one by one semi automated, but it would require user interaction for each cache. Edited November 18, 2005 by ClydeE Quote Link to comment
+ClydeE
OK, I have now created a macro that will do this (no Guarantee it will work though ) You can test the BookMark.txt macro by downloading from here Edited November 18, 2005 by ClydeE Quote Link to comment
