+thestosh
This first post is a list of all the unactivated coins I have available. I am placing them on ebay a few at a time as I can type up descriptions for them and take pictures. I'm posting the whole list here to give you all a heads up. I am donating all sales, so I'm not interested in trades or lowball offers. You are welcome to post the ones you are interested in and I will try to list them ahead of the others. You may also suggest fair starting bids. Remember, this is a fundraiser. Once I get thru the unactivated ones, I'll start on the activated coins in my collection that can be adopted to your user account once sold. It has been very fun collecting these coins, but this is a chance for me to let many of you enjoy the fun and excitement when an old collection is divided up while also allowing me to put the money to use for even more people to enjoy than were currently enjoying my coin collection. Everybody wins. Enjoy, - TheStosh You can view my geocoin auctions here: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZthestoshQQhtZ-1 http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZthestoshQQhtZ-1 I have the following unactivated geocoins available: State Geocoins: Tennessee TN geocoin pewter finish 2005 Tennessee TN geocoin silver finish 2005 Tennessee TN geocoin gold finish 2005 Tennessee TN geocoin micro 2006 New York NY geocoin 2005 Kansas KS geocoin 2006 New Mexico NM geocoin 2005 Maryland MD geocoin 2005 Washington WA geocoin 2004 (Not for sale until I get permission from Groundspeak) Oregon OR geocoin 2004 (Not for sale until I get permission from Groundspeak) New Jersey NJ geocoin 2005 Michigan MI geocoin 2005 Alabama AB geocoin 2004 (Not for sale until I get permission from Groundspeak) Texas TX geocoin 2003 (Not for sale until I get permission from Groundspeak) Texas TX geocoin 2006 California CA geocoin 2004 (Not for sale until I get permission from Groundspeak) California CA geocoin 2005 Pennsylvania PA geocoin 2004 (Not for sale until I get permission from Groundspeak) Country geocoins: Scotland 2006 UK 2005 EU (first one?) spiraled text on one side Canada (first one?) avroair
Wow...some of those minimum bids are way high. It's a fund raiser, I wouldn't see the point if they were listed at below cost. Also, the older coins like the NJ 2005 routinely sell for more than $20.00 Quote Link to comment
Odyssey Voyager
who benefits from the funds raised? which charity would we all be helping out? Quote Link to comment

Odyssey Voyager
nevermind...i finally read the auction description at ebay for the fund raising information. sounds like a cool idea! good luck with the auctions. Quote Link to comment
+LordYatchman
You would get more people looking at your auctions if the starting price were lower. From the title alone which says nothing about a charity most people would just look at the prices and then scroll down to the next coin in their search as the starting prices are so high Quote Link to comment
+Eartha
I sent the OP a PM. I'm posting it here too, as I have not heard back. Please remove the non-trackables from your list, failure to do so will result in this closure of this thread until it is done. Quote Link to comment

+Eartha
I sent the OP a PM. I'm posting it here too, as I have not heard back. Please remove the non-trackables from your list, failure to do so will result in this closure of this thread until it is done. What is your motivation for this? 1. The forum guidelines Specifically this part: This forum may be used for selling, trading or giving away of geocoins which are trackable on Geocaching.com. This includes any trackable coin produced by an individual, business or geocaching organization. Non-trackable coins may be posted for trade by individual coin owners. The proceeds from a permitted coin sale can be used for any purpose, such as personal profit, support of a geocaching organization, or to benefit a charitable cause. 2. It's my job. I am the volunteer Forum moderator here and it's my job to keep these forums from becoming too commercial, guidelines must be followed. 3. The coin tracking policy. Specifically this part: Selling Trackable Geocoins: If you wish to sell your Trackable Geocoins for profit or otherwise, you may do so. If your coin is non-trackable and bears the geocaching.com logo, it may NOT be sold unless specific written permission has been obtained from Groundspeak to sell the coin. Any more questions? Have you read the guidelines? Now, please remove the non-trackable items you have posted for sale, or the thread will be closed until you do so. Quote Link to comment
+thestosh
I have emailed Groundspeak for permission. In the meantime I will look thru my coins and identify the nontrackable ones. The trackable ones are still for sale while I wait. Let me know which ones you want first. 5/15/2007 9:11AM Eastern Time contact@Groundspeak.com To whom it may concern, I'm selling my entire geocoin collection for a fundraiser. I am not keeping any of the money. I would like to sell the entire collection including the early coins (that were made with permission) that were made with geocaching.com logos. Some of these coins are not trackable since that was before geocaching.com offered this service. I am told that we are not allowed to sell any of these early coins even though we were allowed to buy them. - unless we have Groundspeak's permission. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=163231 I am asking permission to sell this collection (individually) on ebay at this time. This is a one time project and I am not asking permission to be able to sell any others in the future. I just want to sell off my collection. I understand that you are looking to preserve your company images and trademarks and protect your legal interests. I also understand that you offer the permission route as a way to allow such efforts as mine. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - TheStosh Quote Link to comment

+Eartha
When permission is granted I will reopen the thread, please forward the permission email to me. If you want this thread open now, send me an updated list without the non-trackables on it, and I will edit and reopen the thread. Quote Link to comment
+Eartha
This thread has been re-opened with permission from Groundspeak. This permission is for the particular coins discussed between the OP and Groundspeak. Note: This shall not be construed as blanket permission for anyone to sell non-trackable coins across the board, all guidelines still follow. Permission is given on a case by case basis. Never mind, I saw that shipping includes insurance which explains the higher price. Actually, I'm eating the shipping and insurance and the orriginal amount paid for the coins and the ebay listing fees. The total amount paid via paypal is getting donated. I have a bunch of the geocoins listed here: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZthestoshQQhtZ-1 Edited May 22, 2007 by thestosh Quote Link to comment

Flying Spaghetti Monster
You may want to consider dropping some of those prices. Many of the coins that you still have listed for sale have been there since May 14th and are still not sold. Could be the consumers providing feedback = food for thought. This isn't a thread to debate what we paid for the coins. I'm donating what I paid as well as what they sell for. Here are a couple non-fundraiser coins that went for more than they cost. http://cgi.ebay.com/OIFGA-Geocoin_W0QQitem...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/2005-COMPASS-ROSE-GEOC...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Royal-Flush-ACE-159-Ge...1QQcmdZViewItem Incidentally, I have seen several fundraiser coins end for over a few hundred dollars which is probably more then they cost. This is a thread to let you know coins are available if you want them and are willing to pay what is being asked. If you can find the coins cheaper, enjoy. Thanks for looking and spreading the word to people who may be interested. These coins are all from the early heyday of geocoins and some of the recent entrants to collecting may not have had a chance to get them. Here is their chance. Like anything that may not be readily available anymore, the price goes up the harder they are to aquire. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZthestoshQQhtZ-1 Wow, this one even went for $117.57 http://cgi.ebay.com/Lemon-Fresh-Dog-GEO-BO...1QQcmdZViewItem Edited June 12, 2007 by thestosh Quote Link to comment
